"The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or teacherous, is his dog..." -George G. Vest

Raising and showing dogs has always provided us with an opportunity to make wonderful, life-long friends. Mentoring is a big part of being a responsible breeder, and many of our puppies are sold to show homes where co-ownerships are an integral part of the relationship. The opportunity to work together with people who, like us, have similar goals for the Gordon Setter Breed is a great experience. Below are some of the dogs co-owned by Moonsetter. Jenna
Co-owned with the Searfoss's of White Haven, Pennsylvania, Jenna was the pick girl from the Moonsetter "I" Litter. A gorgeous headpiece and incredible balance made her a definite contender for top honors in her litter, so we were thrilled when Betsy was equally thrilled to have her. Plans to show Jenna mean she'll have the opportunity, we hope, to reach her full potential in the years to come. Jenna is the first Gordon Setter in the Searfoss household, which she also shares with an Irish Setter named Darby.

Braun
Co-owned with Keith Trudell of Glencoe, Minnesota, Braun is the pick boy from the Moonsetter "I" Litter. Not originally sold as a show pup (oh the pain), Keith generously agreed to co-own Braun with us in hopes of getting him into the breed ring someday, and maybe into our breeding program. As Keith's hunting buddy Braun is pretty special, so we'll probably have to work around the hunting season to get this boy in the ring. But, some things are worth it!!

Miley
Co-owned with Diane Chouinard of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Miley was another pick girl from the Moonsetter "I" Litter. Deciding between Miley and her sister Jenna wasn't easy for us, but Diane made the task easy when she insisted that Miley was "the one and only" for her. The two plan to learn the ropes of showing in the breed ring together, and we know with Diane's determination and Miley's good looks, it's only a matter of time before those points start to add up.

Beau
Co-owned with Kathleen Gazey of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Beau was one of the pick boys from the Moonsetter "G" Litter. Substance, and a beautiful head to rival papa Logan's, it was no surprise that Kathleen too was taken with Beau in pictures. Life on the "Flying G" ranch is also shared with another Gordon named Georgia, a few horses, and Kathleen's prized alpacas. Plans to show Beau was Kathleen's primary goal, but an injury, and later, a torn ACL, put his career on temporary hold. We look forward to seeing him in the ring when he's fully healed.

Darcy
Co-owned with Denise Dunham Schiele of Downers Grove, Illinois, Darcy was inarguably the pick girl in the Moonsetter "G" Litter. Early on this girl was a stand-out puppy, with lovely bone, nice angles, and an out-going personality. A trip to Minnesota for Denise, and an afternoon of going over puppy after puppy, it was agreed this girl would go home and become the next member of the Savoy Critter Clan. An avid competitor in agility and the breed ring, Denise hopes to put a nice pair of book-end titles on Darcy, and maybe even a hunting title for that coveted "BBB" award.

Liberty
Co-owned with Sue & Virgil Davis of Anchorage, Alaska, Libby is our pick girl from the Moonsetter "E" Litter. At just a few weeks old, there was no question Liberty was going to be something special. By 6 weeks, it was clear she would make the journey to Alaska and join the Davis Clan. A very serious and thoughtful girl, Libby exemplifies true Gordon Setter type. Beautiful movement tops off the list of outstanding qualities that make up a truly special girl. Already on the way to earning her bench championship, a Junior Hunter and an agility title, Libby is one of our proudest achievements. Kudos to mom Sue for piloting Libby through all of these endeavors.

Shaela
Co-owned with Glenn & Erin Maclean of Sacramento, California, Shaela is another of our pick girls from the Moonsetter "E" Litter. With plans to put a bench championship on Shaela, Glenn found himself helping out with a local field trial, and one thing leading to another, Shaela was entering them. As it turned out, she was not only pretty good at it, she was great, and a 3rd Place Derby Puppy Award for that year was the result. Shaela shares the sofa in the Maclean household with another Gordon named Philip (who also happens to be the sire of our "C" Litter).

Rigel
Co-owned with Mary Keiser of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rigel is the pick boy from the Moonsetter "E" Litter. The most loveable expression and beautiful headpiece one could ask for definitely gave this boy an edge over his siblings; and being the first to escape the whelping box should have told us Rigel would have a mind of his own, and know how to use it! Already started on his bench championship, plans for this and a hunting title are hoped for Rigel's future, provided the Keiser's can convince this smart fellow that it's his idea!

Rake
Co-owned with Tom & Ellen Maine of Bloomington, Minnesota, Rake was one of our pick boys from the Moonsetter "D" Litter. Rake became a proud Dad in 2008 when he sired the "I" Litter with our Regan. He serves as Tom's main hunting buddy, and mentor to his son Caden, one of his "pups". The boys keep the Maine household hopping, and clearly try the patience of their other housemate, an older Gordon girl named Morgan. We were thrilled for the opportunity to use this boy in our breeding program, and Rake shares this page with three of his kids, daughters, Jenna and Miley and son Braun.

Boomer
Co-owned with Bruce & Mary Keiser of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Boomer is one of our pick boys from the Moonsetter "B" Litter. A truly versatile dog, Boomer is not only a Specialty winner, but has his Junior Hunter title too (nothing better than a pair of bookend titles!) The epitome of Gordon Setter type, Boomer has incredible bone and substance, and a to die for headpiece. Top that off with his party animal attitude, and you get all Gordon boy from nose to paw! We're incredibly proud of Boomer's achievements, and his owners for helping him get there.

Benson
Co-owned with Dan & Janet Kopecky of Rhododendron, Oregon, Benson is another of our pick boys from the Moonsetter "B" Litter. Being third in line didn't stop Benson from finishing his bench championship, or doing it in grand style. As part of this, Benson took Best of Breed from the classes over multiple specials (one of them a Best in Show winner!), and finished his title in just a few short weekends. First and foremost, Benson is a much-loved member of the Kopecky family, and we thank them for allowing him to reach his full potential both in the ring, and out.
