Waverly, aka "Wave," "Wavy," and "Wavy Lays," is the pick puppy from the Moonsetter "Y" litter. At just 7.7 ounces at birth, she was the smallest puppy we've had in over 25 litters. She is full of personality and reminds us so much of her sire, Enzo. Waverly's registered name was chosen in honor of her late great-grandmother, Truly.
At Waverly's very first show, the North Country Gordon Setter Club Specialty, she won Best in Sweepstakes from 6-9 month puppy class. This was an exciting win, as her sire, Enzo, went Best in Sweeps at the same show 3 years prior. What a way start to her show career!
Wave headed out to Colorado when she turned 11 months old for bird dog training with our good friend John. She had almost no prior exposure to birds, and started finding and pointing birds in only a few short weeks. Waverly earned her AKC Junior Hunter title in 4 straight runs at only 13 months old!
Waverly stepped back into the show ring after her dam, Veronica, finished her Championship. She quickly earned many points over the summer of 2022. In January of 2023, Waverly won Winners Bitch/Best Bred-by for her first major at the North Country Gordon Setter AM Specialty. She also won Reserve Winners Bitch/Best Bred-by at the PM Specialty. Wave finished her Championship a few months later at the all-breed show right before a Specialty by going Winners Bitch for a 5 point major! Waverly is without a doubt one of the smartest Gordon's we've had, so when she's not at a show, she certainly keeps herself busy.
Wave's Specials career took off in 2025, earning multiple specialty wins, breed wins, and Owner-Handled Group placements. Waverly ended the year as the #8 Owner-Handled Gordon. Waverly will be back in the ring in 2026, after taking time off this fall to whelp her second litter.
Waverly is OFA Excellent (hips), Elbows Normal, RCD4 Carrier, Eyes Normal, and CCA Clear by parentage (CHIC #184001). Wave is the dam of the "Herbs & Spices" & "Game Night" litters, both sired by CH Blackjack Wallace Chedder.
